And our Karat safe offers a secure home for precisely these items . The same applies, of course, to cash, jewelry, and important documents. Because the BURG-WÄCHTER safe is extremely robust and, with its certified resistance grade 0 (N), offers strong protection against forced entry.

This is how the carat is constructed

The Karat's body consists of three steel walls. The outer casing is made of particularly hard stainless steel. This perfect combination provides protection against oxy-fuel cutting. Extra-strong steel is used in the door. A 7-millimeter-thick plate of SM steel provides protection within the double-walled door.
Locking is achieved with square bolts on three sides. The bolts are protected on the top and bottom by an integrated steel roller. This combination provides significant additional protection against forced entry , such as drilling, flame cutting, and punching. A further security advantage is the thermal emergency locking system with a punch-resistant guard in front of each locking bolt.

Protection against fire and theft

In addition to resisting external violence, the Karat safe also withstands fire. Thanks to the fire-resistant material used (compliant with DIN 4102-A1) and a continuous fire seal in the body, the safe heats up only slowly inside. This ensures that your documents, papers, and cash are protected for an extended period.
No matter how secure a safe is, burglars shouldn't be able to take it with them. A stable anchoring system will prevent this. The Karat comes pre-drilled with holes for this purpose. The included mounting hardware allows the safe to be securely anchored to the wall and floor.

If you lose your key: simply change the lock!

For both safe sizes, you have a choice of two locking systems. The standard option is a mechanical key (K models). Alternatively, you can opt for the modern electronic locking system "SecuTronic" (E FP models) for opening via code and fingerprint. The high-security double-bitted lock "SecuSafe" on the Karat safe offers a clever extra feature: If you lose a key, you can simply order a new key set and reprogram the lock accordingly . Thanks to the reprogramable lock, if your old key is stolen, the safe can no longer be opened with it!

The modern "SecuTronic" TRSE 12 H FP safe electronics impress with well-designed features for security and convenience . The control panel features an angled touchscreen with a graphic display . To activate it, simply swipe briefly across the "On" button. The control panel is then ready for use and illuminated in two colors. Furthermore, the angled control panel ensures optimal visibility from above. You can, of course, freely choose the opening code. One admin code and nine user codes are available. Incidentally, you can also view the opening history directly on the display.

Safe opening via fingerprint

The Karat safe can now be opened with just one fingerprint. This makes BURG-WÄCHTER currently the only manufacturer to offer a certified biometric opening method (ECB•S certified, lock class A).
Its major advantage: You can lose a key or forget the access code. But you always have your finger with you! A total of 20 fingerprints are available for opening the safe. Naturally, the technology features "fake finger detection" (live finger detection).

Karat offers a lockout period and delayed opening.

The "SecuTronic" TRSE 12 H FP lock features an opening delay. (max. 99 minutes). This means: After entering the code, the selected time elapses before the Karat can be opened. A lockout period is triggered after three incorrect code entries. activated. This prevents burglars from trying multiple codes. All these details further enhance your security!

Approved for storage of handguns

The safe comes with an adjustable shelf , allowing you to organize your valuables as desired. Its slim design maximizes interior space. The smaller Karat model MT 24 has an interior volume of 25.8 liters, while the larger MT 26 offers 45.3 liters. Both are elegantly and timelessly finished in platinum gray. Furthermore, even after the tightening of German firearms laws (§36) in July 2017, the Karat safe can still accommodate up to five handguns, including ammunition .
