Properties and production of thermowood:

During thermowood treatment, the wood is heated to temperatures between 180 and 230° Celsius, excluding oxygen. This significantly reduces the wood's ability to absorb water, and wood-destroying fungi and bacteria lose their food source. This increases the wood's durability. All wooden parts of the barrel sauna (except the base feet and window and door frames) are delivered in Nordic thermowood.
