Properties and Manufacturing of Thermo Wood:
During thermo wood treatment, the wood is heated to temperatures between 180 and 230° Celsius, excluding oxygen. This significantly reduces the wood's ability to absorb water, depriving wood-decaying fungi and bacteria of their food source. This increases the wood's durability. All wooden parts of the barrel sauna (except base feet, window and door frames, end boards, and terrace boards in the outdoor area) are supplied from Nordic thermo wood.
