Properties and production of thermowood:
During thermowood treatment, the wood is heated to temperatures between 180 and 230° Celsius, excluding oxygen. This greatly reduces the wood's ability to absorb water, and wood-destroying fungi and bacteria thus lose their food source. This increases the durability of the wood. All wooden parts of the barrel sauna (except support feet, window and door frames, end boards and terrace boards in the outdoor area) are supplied made of Nordic thermowood.
