Properties and Manufacturing of Thermowood:
During thermowood treatment, the wood is heated to temperatures between 180 and 230° Celsius, excluding oxygen. This significantly reduces the wood's ability to absorb water, thus depriving wood-degrading fungi and bacteria of their food source. This increases the durability of the wood. All wooden parts of the barrel sauna (except for feet, window and door frames, end boards, and outdoor terrace boards) are supplied made of Nordic thermowood.
