Properties and production of thermowood:
During thermowood treatment, the wood is heated to temperatures between 180 and 230° Celsius, excluding oxygen. This significantly reduces the wood's ability to absorb water, and wood-destroying fungi and bacteria thus lose their food source. This increases the durability of the wood. All wooden parts of the barrel sauna (except for base feet, window and door frames, end boards, and outdoor terrace boards) are delivered made of Nordic thermowood.
