PANASONIC AJ-CX4000GJ - 2/3" 4K HDR shoulder camcorder with interchangeable B4 lens mount - in black
The AJ-CX4000 is the latest addition to the CX series of 4K camcorders. It supports UHD recording for news gathering and live event streaming, as well as for sports and documentaries.
The CX4000 features an interchangeable B4 lens mount and a newly developed 11-megapixel MOS sensor with a horizontal resolution of 2000 TV lines. It is HDR compatible and offers both BT.2100 and BT.2020 color space support, enabling high-sensitivity, low-noise images.

Higher-quality 4K/HDR image recording thanks to LSSIEL technology
- With a newly developed 4.4K sensor, the camera achieves ultra-high-definition resolution, high sensitivity, low noise, and a wide dynamic range. Furthermore, the newly developed color filter reduces energy loss to other channels and improves spectral characteristics.

Faster workflow | High efficiency and high-quality HEVC100M (4K 60p/50p)
- The highly efficient HEVC codec for high image quality can capture long-term recordings in 4K/10-bit, while simultaneously maintaining a high bitrate and storage capacity. It achieves a bitrate of 200 Mbps, equivalent to Master Grade in HD production, and 100 Mbps, equivalent to Master Grade in HD ENG (news production).
- The color sampling in 4K (50p/60p) ensures sufficient picture quality even at 4:2:0 compared to the conventional HD broadcast master and at the same time offers smooth playback on editing systems with hardware acceleration
- The use of reliable expressP2 cards with high transfer speeds or cost-effective microP2 cards is also possible. The AVC Ultra HD codec from the P2HD series is also supported.
Innovative network solutions
- Thanks to the built-in encoder for video streaming, recordings can be published in HD via live streaming portals regardless of the recording location using the "Direct Streaming" function (compatible with RTSP, RTMP, and RTMPS). Internal HD recording (MOV/P2-MXF) is also possible during streaming.
- The LAN terminal is equipped with a locking mechanism with 100BASE-T compatibility and supports NDI|HX connectivity. An IP connection enables data transmission and camera control. Both actions can be connected to a recording/distribution system combined with a Panasonic remote camera system.
Ergonomic design and robust housing
- The CX4000 has the same ergonomic features as previous ENG cameras and weighs 3.4 kg, like conventional HD shoulder camcorders
- The camcorder features a newly developed 3.5-inch LCD monitor and a monochrome OLED display for timecode, audio metering, and status information. It is also equipped with a 12G SDI output, HDMI output, and LAN connection.
Wireless control with Easy IP via a tablet or smartphone
The AJ-CX4000GJ can be wirelessly controlled remotely using the "CX ROP" app for smartphones or tablets (free download from the App Store or Google Play). The app allows you to view camera information and adjust camera settings. It also offers a wide range of remote functions for selecting the output signal, user button settings, REC S/S, and many other functions.
